Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT DO YOU ACCEPT?

I accept Cash, Check, Charge, Venmo, Apple Pay
Credit Cards is additional 3.75% fee
Any returned checks result in $35 fee.

The remainder of the cost (50%) is due 2 weeks before date.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU DO YOURSELF? DO YOU HAVE AN ASSISTANT?

The largest I can do on my own is a 9-10 bridal party. To make things more comfortable for

time I usually bring an assistant, if so the bride will know before hand.

WHAT TIME DO YOU NORMALLY START?

I normally start most weddings, parties big or small, about 8-9am for most ceremonies that

start around 2pm or after.

*Any start times before 8:30am is additional fee of $25.

WHAT TIME DO YOU START THE SERVICES DAY OF?

Most all weddings, if ceremony starts between 4-7pm start times are usually 8:30-10:00am to ensure
all party members are relaxed and not rushed and touch ups can be made if so. Brides will coordinate with planner or photographers to find out what time they want the party done by.

*Any start times before 8:30am is additional fee of $25.

WILL MY HAIR HOLD?

Yes. Your hair will hold :) I've practiced for years and finally mastered my secret recipe for a

flawless, solid foundation of a bridal style without it looking like plaster but still will be easy to

take out the following day.

IS GRATUITY INCLUDED IN THE CONTRACT?

No.

WHERE IS YOUR SALON LOCATED?

Merkai Studio in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO YOU RESERVE WEDDINGS?

1-2 years

HOW DO I SECURE MY WEDDING DATE?

I require a signed contract, and a deposit of 50% down of the total parties cost. To make the bride
more comfortable with who she is picking, I recommend scheduling a trial first and then from there the bride can feel she's made the right decision to go ahead and secure her date with a signed contract and deposit.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE YOU TO DO AN UPDO?

Everyone is different, but with the amount of weddings I've done I have found to usually finish an
updo in 30-40 min. I always require 1 hour for the Bride.

SHOULD I HAVE CLEAN HAIR FOR TRIAL/WEDDING DAY?

I prefer 1 day old hair, dry shampoo can always help with putting body back into the hair.
NOTE: please do not flat iron hair before.

IF I NEED TO TOUCH UP MY COLOR, WHEN IS THE BEST TIME?

Most of my clients I recommend coloring their hair 1-2 weeks prior.

I HAVE EXTENSIONS?

Gotta love them! :) Bride has to provide their own extensions. Any bridal party member that has them
also needs to be noted on the contract as well. My extension fee is an additional $25 to any party member who requires me to place them in for style.
